‘Amat Kuhwely is the rebranded CRIT Farms
After five decades as CRIT Farms, the tribal farming operation is rebranding as ‘Amat Kuhwely. Alongside a new name, ‘Amat Kuhwely is proud to represent a partnership between the Colorado River Indian Tribes and Indigena Capital
’Amat Kuhwely, in the Mohave language, refers to the ancestral place name for Parker, Arizona appropriately translating to “Where the Earth was Dug.” ‘Amat Kuhwely reflects the intimate relationship of the people, the land, and the water. ‘Amat Kuhwely esteems to build a world class farming operation that provides for the economic sovereignty of the Colorado River Indian Tribes
‘Amat Kuhwely is Upgrading and Expanding CRIT’s Farming Operation
In December 2024, the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) Tribal Council announced they secured a $23 million investment from Indigena Capital to upgrade and expand CRIT’s farming operation
This investment will provide the capital necessary to address overdue investment in CRIT Farms infrastructure and help the Tribe continue to expand its strong position in the market for years to come
